chesim Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Hi all, After procrastinating since highschool (20years ago) Im going to get my RPC and hopefully push on to PPL then take stock. Been up in a warrior twice, a moth and a glider. Decided to to the RA path to save money as well as ease in to the sport. Id prob go all in if I was up at Port Macquarie flying a Diamond
yampy Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 From your thread title , I assume you are contemplating taking RA training at The Oaks airfield near Camden , is that correct ? ... there's no connection in the thread title to the content of your post . Dave 1

It seems cheaper than anywhere else around Sydney and looks like they have some good aircraft for the price. Plus reviews of the training provided are positive.
coljones Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Correct. It seems cheaper than anywhere else around Sydney and looks like they have some good aircraft for the price. Plus reviews of the training provided are positive. Welcome!! Will it be Jabs or Foxbats?
chesim Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 Hopefully a Jab 230 will be available. Would I be right in assuming its the better of the two? It's certainly more more popular according to some online statistics I just read.

I also fly the Foxbats, also a good plane. Enjoy yourself.
Nightmare Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Hi and welcome chesim! RPC through RAAus, is a great way to get your wings. Furthermore, many of the hours and endorsements, if not all, can cross over to GA if that's where you want to go. On top of that, RAA aircraft in my opinion are more economical to buy, run and maintain. I remember wanting to be a pilot when I was an early teen, I finally realized that dream 30 years later. Should've done it earlier.... Cheers, Tony.
chesim Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 Ive been listening to the Aviation Careers podcast and was just googling to confirm that RA counted towards GA (and a thread here) then saw your reply. Good timing. 1
