fly_tornado Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 they just hit 950 deposits if all the customers are able to take their orders to fruition, that's $123,500,000 in sales
dazza 38 Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 I find it very hard to believe that they will be selling completed aircraft initially for only $130 000 US. No wonder the have so many $2000 deposits.
fly_tornado Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 If Peter can get multiple builds going at the same time he should be able to bang out a lot of aircraft every year, the lack of volume is what pushes up the cost of most aircraft.
Downunder Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Having a crack at a new aircraft is one thing. Modifying an Audi engine into an aircraft engine is another. Might be going "a bridge too far" trying to do both at the same time...... Raptor Aircraft Home
Marty_d Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Fascinating. In some ways that cabin looks more like a car than an aircraft.
KRviator Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 230KTAS on 7GPH at FL250 for $200,000 Australian? Never happen. It's simply far too good to be true. If it does come to fruition though, Van's will take a hit. Work it backwards in USD: 130000- 15,000 GTN750 10,000 Dual 10" G3X system 750 for the GMC305 AP panel 290 G3X GPS Antenna Leaving 104000 for the engine and airframe. A standard kit for the RV-10 costs 46,000 sans engine. Looks great, I wish them well, but look at the Icon debacle and remember the old adage, if it looks to good to be true, it probably is... 1
fly_tornado Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 he should get some decent discounts with the volume of orders on his books
fly_tornado Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 also don''t forget Vans has got to protect his customer's semi-finished projects, lowering the price of the kits, especially the quick build kits only damages the builders who can't complete.
