planedriver
Just be wary if you see an elderly lady with a hand-full of coins about to board your flight. Coins thrown into plane engine by old lady for luck cause delay
planedriver
As of this mornings news, Air Asia will ban all passengers boarding with a pet parrot on their shoulder. When you see documentaries about migrating birds and the altitude that they fly at, it's a wonder there are not more bird-strikes. There's plenty of instances where it occurs at lower levels and gets the PIC's full attention. Not something you'd want to stuff up a nice day's flying. facthunter
The genius people have rubbish tips located near airport boundaries and seagulls just love rubbish tips. I hit a large flock of them landing at Sydney at about 200 feet. Probably 15 strikes at lest. Not much of a concern with landing imminent. Just write it up in the AMD 18 and have it inspected. Different thing when you are taking of at max weight for Perth. You have Frigate birds at Xmas Island and big pelicans at Coolangatta. Big deal if they get ingested in the fan. Wedgetails at 8,000 feet common and all levels below. so affects the small stuff. Could cause structural failure and the canopy won't provide much protection to the occupant(s) either.
