A top day over the straights!!!

This a small selection of air to air photos taken yesterday over The Great Sandy Straights, between Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. These were taken by a friend and trainee Rec Pilot.

The camera ship was our club Cessna 172 with a door removed for the photo session, and flown by our club president.

I was flying the Skylark and our local CFI was flying our Sportstar.

This was some of the best fun flying that I have done. keen.gif.9802fd8e381488e125cd8e26767cabb8.gif006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif:);)keen.gif.9802fd8e381488e125cd8e26767cabb8.gif006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif:)010_chuffed.gif.c2575b31dcd1e7cce10574d86ccb2d9d.gif

The Straights always provide a spectacular backdrop and usually the air over water is pretty smooth.

1) The Skylark

2) The Sportstar

3) The Sportstar over a sand bar, how cool does this look!!!

4) And finally, the Skylark and Sportstar together.

The originals of these pic's are high res, 4 - 5 meg average.

Cheers

Mick

Now that is the type of photos I want to take, but impossible from my own plane. I am waiting for another ride in the Savannah. Tried out in a drifter but the bone dome and all the bracing wires made it hard. Maybe I should take the canopy off the Starlet and risk losing the camera in the blast.

How dry is the drought? Below is a picture of a strip in Vic. The top left hand corner used to be a lake. I'll say no more as this is also in the "Guess the strip" post.

The standard of photos this month is fantastic. 011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif Keep them coming.

Are there restrictions on members saving these and using them personally, for example as a screen saver or wallpaper?

Regards, Mathew

Matthew, if you like mine anytime I personally don't care what you do with them in your own home. I agree, some good ones this month ;) Keep them coming.

Model Fleet

Since Browng has started including models, this is a shot of my model fleet about 5 years ago keen.gif.9802fd8e381488e125cd8e26767cabb8.gif.

It has changed alot since then, no more aerobatic models, just scale ones.

To give you an idea of sizes, the Spitfire is 2.44m wingspan, the Slingshot in the front is 1.75m span.

I'm jealous! I can't build models to save my life, LOVE the spitfire!. The one in my picture belongs to an RFDS doctor in Kalgoorlie, who happened to be test flying it behind the RFDS hangar the day I flew in. I would love a static model of my J3, but alas I just don't have the required skills.049_sad.gif.af5e5c0993af131d9c5bfe880fbbc2a0.gif

Hurricane

My latest effort, a Hawker Hurricane. Not huge at 1.8m wingspan, but I am happy with how it looks and it flies nice too!

Just like my signature says, I will deny any accusations of me having an addiction problem with anything to do with flying!!!!! ;)keen.gif.9802fd8e381488e125cd8e26767cabb8.gif006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif;)

The gun sight you can see in the cockpit pic is actually the switch to turn the radio control system on and off. Pull the gun sight out and it switches the radio on! 024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif024_cool.gif.e4faea8b8d6d5d6e548e269d4b8acbd2.gif024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif

Gotta try to hide all the non-scale items!!!!!

Cheers
