[Round Engines]

Hi Flyers,

 

I have a new project in mind and am after a used Jabiru airframe minus the engine. Damaged or undamaged and any model would be suitable. If anyone knows of one please PM me.

For the pedants among us....when you photoshop a radial into a VW, do you think you could get the prop turning the right way and make sure there's enough ground clearance.

Actually, the only part that is Photoshop is the prop. The engine swap is genuine.

 

In this test run, it appears just a cooling fan is fitted - although that whizzing, totally-unguarded fan must be about as dangerous as the even-more-dubious handling characteristics of the radial-powered VeeDub.

 

 

I love this one - and it's factory, not even an aircraft engine swap.

 

However, the handling characteristics were noted as "terrifying", with severe understeer.

 

With no ability to modify the handling, due to the FWD design and the 75/25 front-end weight bias, the car was deemed too dangerous to race.
