turboplanner Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 My quote above about choosing where to do the training referred to the ability and skill set of possible instructors due to the high incidence of instructors/experienced people being involved in accidents, not as to where to physically go to do I would PM djpacro, who has international aerobatic status, and see if he could recommend a suitably qualified person in Brisbane, or better still grab a Jetstar $89 flight to Melbourne and do it with him.
spacesailor Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 "A weight increase would make it safer and cheaper to build". As the cost of aluminium is higher then steel, more steel framed aircraft should be safer, like steel framed houses, Safe as houses!, LoL spacesailor
facthunter Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 A steel tube truss is one of the best structures for a plane around 650-700 kgs. Nev 1
spacesailor Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 "Regarding the thread on 25 Nm radius limit for RAA pilots without Nav endorsements". Can I put this out about training & the 25 Nm limit! My old flying club has a satellite facility at Tarree NSW. this from the committee: " SRFC Hi All, "At last nights general meeting it was put forward and agreed that we conduct training one weekend a month out of Rylstone Airpark," Now that;s a lot more than 25Nm, and Tarree is further still, Same plane same instructor but a new & interesting place to learn from. I hope it's still running. spacesailor
