biggles Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Dear Jabiru Fleet, Bundaberg is once again getting deluged by rain. For those of you that were planning to drop in to see us at our stand at Airventure Australia this weekend in Narromine, we are sorry to say that we have cancelled due to weather. Also cancelled is Rod's talk on the Saturday morning. If you have any inquiries, please give us a call or drop in to Bundy in more favourable weather conditions. Have fun at Airventure. Happy Landings The Jabiru Team. P.S. Below is a pic of the latest shiny new J230 aircraft we were bringing to show you. Copyright © 2017 Jabiru Aircraft Pty Ltd, All rights reserved. Downunder Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 A local tecnam was changed from vh to RAA recently. Now has a "23" number. Others of the same model are "24". I can only think they ran out of 24 suffixes?
spacesailor Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 What is an own design or plan built aircraft. spacesailor

Head in the clouds Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 What is an own design or plan built aircraft.spacesailor Own-design, plans-built and kit-built are all 19-xxx as far as I know. Unless they're single-seat 95.10 category which are 10-xxx. 1
rankamateur Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Maybe 23-xxxx is registered with the alternate registration authority....well one can still dream!
spacesailor Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 What is "superseded-Certified Amateur built" 28 Is it the 95-10 prefix ? when the new/old rules pushed them off that prefix?. Grandfather Clause - 1 ISSUE 4 - AUGUST 2016 GRANDFATHER CLAUSE All RAAus aircraft operating prior to Issue 4 of this Technical Manual may continue operating under grandfathering arrangements. spacesailor
kasper Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 What is "superseded-Certified Amateur built" 28Is it the 95-10 prefix ? when the new/old rules pushed them off that prefix?. Grandfather Clause - 1 ISSUE 4 - AUGUST 2016 GRANDFATHER CLAUSE All RAAus aircraft operating prior to Issue 4 of this Technical Manual may continue operating under grandfathering arrangements. spacesailor No. The original homebuilt GA were under CAO101.28 hence the 28 reg when they were under RAAus. These where approved homebuilt ga aircraft from accepted plans and/or kits. 95.10 Single seaters from factories got the same 10 series registration as homebuilt 95.10 and they just became a closed subset within the series once factory built was closed off. Same as the changes to introduce mtow wing load limits only applies to 95.10 first registered after 1990. As an example you can have a factory 95.10 that has less wing area than would be allowed for any new airframe and it continues as a 95.10 airframe without limits. One group that meets this double legacy status are the Facet sapphires on 10 reg. Factory built and greater than 30kg wing load at mtow 1 1
