Yenn Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 What did they do to oil levels? In my experience the addition of extra oil leads to greater oil consumption.
Jabiru Phil Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Hi Brent, Jabiru followed up after my enquiry yesterday. They are sending at no charge mods for oil cooler surrounds etc. They will also send bottom cowl lips if they deem necessary. Thanks again for your input.
DrDexter1975 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Hi Yenn - the gist of the oil level advice was to keep the oil level at the bottom level mark of the dipstick. More oil than that would cause a greater temp.
jcruffle Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 For what is worth, I agree. I have found that the oil level is CRITICAL. For me today: 4500 ft: 18 deg OAT, 90 deg Oil Temp. The bottom mark seems to be ideal. John
Jabiru Phil Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Jab high oil temp. Hi all! Saturday was the first fly with the oil cooler mod fitted. Jamestown and return. The oil temp never got over 80 and the cylinder head temp was down 10 deg. OAT was only 18 though. However I think that this mod did the trick. Thanks for all those who helped with the discussion. Phil.
