Does anyone know of a place around Melbourne that hires out life jackets for aircraft use?

 

Planning a flight in a few weeks time that will need them and looking for options.

Hi Jay,

 

I don't know about hiring, but I bought a couple from Mendelssohn Pilot Supplies a couple of years ago. Reckoned I would be flying near/over water enough times to make it worthwhile.

Maybe call at a local yacht club and a helpfull member may be able to work a deal loaning a good quality inflatable set. Dollars or a fly etc. Cheers Mike

Just purchase the slim line inflatable jackets the yacht boys use. They are an approved ASA std PFD type 1 costs around $40-70 each.
