A worthwhile read.

Thanks for the link.

I wanted to be a `real' pilot when I was young, but then life went in a different direction. Now I'm just an average amateur pilot and while that link is probably overly pessimistic, I'm glad things turned out the way they did.

Same forum I was reading the stuff people were going through in 2006 just to get to a job that would pay off their debts. Even since 2013 a lot has changed.

But a dog is a dog and many still have fleas. The next SARS/outrage plot/political upset/volcanic eruption comes along and the cycle will go again.

Still, three vacuum cleaners and a closet with a poster in it might sound like a pretty good Saturday night to some folk

I was disappointed when I didn't get that Qantas Cadetship in 1967. Since then I have had a lifetime of fun flying and think myself so lucky that I didn't get it.

I made the correct decision 50 years ago when I completed the commercial theory and decided to remain a PPL and enjoy the job I had. I didn't fancy flying people to a remote strip, waiting 5 hours in the heat, flies and dust then flying them back to civilisation.

It’s not the career it used to be, feel sorry for the people joining Airlines these days on sub standard conditions of service, only 2,803 days to retirement, but who’s counting.080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif
