derekliston Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Just looking at an Aeronaves video on fb of what looks like a Savannah doing a bad bounce landing, then nose gear collapses and it overturns. Thing is that in the comments it states that the elevator control rod became disconnected. I thought, perhaps wrongly, that the Savannah had elevator cables like the Zenith CH701. Could you Savannah drivers please a) have a look at the video and confirm that it is a Savannah and b) tell me whether or not they have elevator cables?
Kyle Communications Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Savannahs have a very similar control system to the 701....its cables off a belcrank at the end of the control rod from the stick
derekliston Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 Yes, I forgot that there is a control rod from the stick to the bell crank. If you have a look at the video on fb of what I think is a Savannah, they claim the control rod detached.
Kyle Communications Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I think its a MX740 or similar...a early savannah version. Its one that the designer Max made in Columbia. There are a few differences not many though. Its the first version he did after max did the 701 for Heintz
derekliston Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 That could have been me. I managed to collapse the nose leg but fortunately it didn’t turn over.
Kyle Communications Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 My mate broke the noseleg off mine...its easy to do if you land too fast and let the nosewheel down too early. Dont feel too special Derek...a lot of people have done exactly that
