RAAus offer a five year membership with a 15% discount on cost.

I’ve sent a request to RAAus tech to ask them to offer the same on aircraft certificates.

Annual inspection or change of ownership certificates can be the same as our current bfr which go seperate from memberships.

If any RAAus members would thinks this a good idea please can you send them an email asking for this - the more member support there is for a change the better the chance of it coming into being.

Cheers

It would be good from the RAAus point of view for at least two reasons. Firstly it would reduce overheads and secondly it would make it less likely or them to lose out to any alternative organisation that could start up in competition.

For Weight shift microlights the HGFA have an annual membership on 31st August for everyone but the aircraft rego is every two years from original date of rego. Cost was $20 but I think this has increased recently. Certainly different from the RAAus system of rego every year (and much cheaper).

an optimist would say a 15% discount on todays fees = 75% ............... taken into account any inflation you could well get close to 100% (or 1 year free). RAA need this income stream

Charges for personnel licenses and plant are a definite gravy train for the regulator and are common in all walks of life

a pessimist would say if RAA are offering 15% there is still something still in it for them - could they offer perhaps some more
