Neil_S Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 So sorry to hear about this! There are some real scumbags about. I hope the police manage to catch the little $hits and you get some of the stuff back. All the best, Neil
biggles Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Country airfields seem to be a target and I believe Wangaratta and Bairnsdale have also been victims. I don't believe Bairnsdale has been targeted but West Sale certainly have ! ..... Bob
danny_galaga Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Take that list to any local pawn shops ASAP. If it looks like the stuff is there call the cops. My dad used to be the janitor of a high school. One time the metal work workshop got raided. Cops told dad to check local pawn shops. The very first one he Went to had the lot!
OZJohn Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Thanks Biggles - second hand messages are not always right. Good advise danny
Old Koreelah Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 So sorry to hear about this! There are some real scumbags about.I hope the police manage to catch the little $hits and you get some of the stuff back... An alternative approach:
Yenn Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 What would it cost to put in CCTV and how long will they run. At our airstrip we could monitor the single access road, but so far we have never had a problem as we are not really visible fro the roads.
Fred Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 It is a sad reflection on society these days. Aircraft and equipment was NEVER under threat until “relatively” recently - a lot of the equipment is not useable outside aviation - a basic indication that grubs have entered an industry that was once an honourable profession/hobby.
jetjr Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 telstra have an Arlo unit which runs on battery for a few months between charges and records video on movement all done via next G mobile service Around $30/mth for 2 years then $15/mth Can watch live on mobile if you want to too.
SDQDI Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I have the Arlo cameras that don’t work off the mobile system and they are an awesome bit of gear. Perfect picture quality and the ability to watch in real time from anywhere with internet is a big plus. their units that are on the mobile system look to be just as good and I intend to get one before too long. I can certainly recommend Arlo as a good quality product.
jetjr Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Agree, they are good kit Older Pro version has lower resolution but battery lasts much longer. Most of Pro2 features don't work unless plugged into power supply.
