mnewbery Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 The drifter may require pre-heat to start. Clifton YCFN Autumn 2015. It was about -10C from memory so yes that is real frost.
mnewbery Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Moments later (actually this was a different day)...
mnewbery Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 What is going on here? Peppa Pig "Miss Rabbit the Rescue Pilot"

Blueadventures Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Actually they are on a world goodwill tour. Which actually means that they are travelling around the world saying look we have very modern equipment Do Not Piss Us Off!!!!!! Thier carriers look impressive. Wouldn't it be cool to land the Xair and the Nynja on the flight deck; as a welcome. Last carrier in Moreton Bay was the old HMAS Melbourne on its way to be scrapped in China in the mid 80's.Cheers Mike
Phil Perry Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Probably no point going flying today. . . .got no skis. . . . .
Phil Perry Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Sorry folks,. . . .this isn't a photograph I realise, BUT it's how I feel today. . . . minus 3 Deg C this morning, car started fine, after I chipped the ice away from the door locks and gaps,. . . My mate Polardroid ( posts on here occasionally ) from Sweden, tells me it's minus 23 C there today. . . . .Brrrrrrr. Can't even use my Ham Radio aerials, as they are completely frozzzen up and earthing to the mast. . . . I'm almost incommunicado. . . .apart from stealth WIFI. . . . Can't get in to the airfield as both gates ( rather like the massive gates shown in the movie Jurassic Park ) have their locks completely frozen and will require a portable gas burner to get in tomorrow to welcome some idiots in trikes who are flying up in the morning. . . . They'll probably require CPR. . .as well as all our bloody coffee and tea. MUST remember to leave the Icom IC A20 on top of a central heating radiator tonight, to thaw that out,. . . I like to sound like Mr. Cool on the radio of course, but I do need the thing to work. . . Nicad batteries don't like very low temps y'know. . .well mine don't anyhow. Can't have another base rig at the airfield because the bloody pikeys keep nicking everything. . . Ce La Vie. . . >
pmccarthy Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Can Jewish people use ham radio? Just wondering...
Phil Perry Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Actually they are on a world goodwill tour. Which actually means that they are travelling around the world saying look we have very modern equipment Do Not Piss Us Off!!!!!! Hi Geoff,. . .ae you sure they're not signalling . . ."Ahhh We likee your Bex arrrr better fella. . .and we love his products. . . . . you buy yes. . .? ? ? " Don't forget. . .Bex has been there for a while now and probably has contacts in the military. . . .it could be part of his strategy to take over the Southern Hemisphere for Aircraft supplies . . . .? very inscrutable these ChinoAustralians y'know. . . . .
Phil Perry Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Can Jewish people use ham radio? Just wondering... Not really certain about that one mate,. . . .I asked me Jewish mate down at the Synagogue the other evening if the Israelis had made any advances in autopilot technology, and initially he was shtumm. . .but when pressurised, he said they nearly always relied on Emmanuel technology. . . .I said . . ".hey, . . .that's uzi for you to say. . . ." But if your enquiry was serious, then YES the Israelis use the callsign 4X4. . . followed by three letters to identify the station. There are a lot of permutations to this, you could look up callsigns of the world, or the RSGB, or the W.I.A. ( Wireless Institute of Australia ) and they will have a full list of callsign permutations for Isreali Radio Hams. . . . . Just aa quick edit hee,. . .can Jewish people use amateur radio ?. . .well, if they live in Australia,. . .they have to be issued with a VK ticket, just like everyone else mate,. . .VK3 Vic,. . .VK2 NSW, VK4 Qld, VK5 S.A. . . etc.. . . when I lived in Brisbane, my callsign was VK4 YC,. . . even though my British one was G4 OHK ( Old Hairy Kangaroo ) . . . .( Or Oh How Kinky. . .) closer to the truth. . . I hope that this answers your question,. . . . .
old man emu Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Phil, I've never, ever had to censor anything on this site to protect the feelings of Old ma Emu, but I've had to block that picture of your car, because if she sees it she will get all weepy and want me to take her back to the Cotswolds next January. And I can't afford to get from there to Cannock just for her to get her nail in-fills! OME
Phil Perry Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 More nonsense pics. . . . This Toyota was captured from ISIS by Peshmerga fighters,. . . dunno if they converted it though. . . I don't know who built / Photoshopped this one,. . but I hope they fixed the bloody useless handbrake first. . .

Marty_d Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 More nonsense pics. . . .This Toyota was captured from ISIS by Peshmerga fighters,. . . dunno if they converted it though. . . I don't know who built / Photoshopped this one,. . but I hope they fixed the bloody useless handbrake first. . . I wouldn't like to be manning the rear gun in that Reliant Robin when it went round a corner...
Phil Perry Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 A "Forum Viewer" told me in another place that the second pic was of a Rialto . . . . . wrong. . .you nailed it mate, the Rialto had square headlamps. . . Also, . .you'd have no problem firing through a corner providing the corner wasn't much more than 2 degrees. .. these things were great to drive in the snow,. . .with the single front wheel trying to ride through the pile of snow in the middle of the lane left by proper vehicles ! I saw a photo of a Reliant nose first down a garage pit some years ago,. . .. easy mistake to make I guess.

Phil Perry Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Below is a picture which I found a long time ago, and it made me chuckle,. . .so I nicked it and reprinted it onto self adhesive vinyl then clear laminated it. I enlarged it to around 800 x 700 mm, and it is framed and hanging on the back of my office door. It still gives me a giggle every time I look at it. ( Mr. Easily pleased R us. . .)
