Consultations Maintenance of limited category aircraft We commenced consultation on Subpart 132.M regarding the maintenance of limited category aircraft. Previous consultation on this topic has proposed the development of the subpart, subject to a review of the full policy detail. Feedback can be provided through the Consultation hub by 13 July 2018. Supplemental oxygen requirements – summary of consultation We published a summary of consultation on Draft CAAP 20.4-01 v1.0 - Supplemental oxygen requirements for cabin crew members in pressurised aircraft operating at flight level 250 and below. You can view the published responses on our Consultation hub. Instruments Prescription of type ratings – Part 142 We have published an instrument which excludes certain activities from being conducted under CASR Part 142. Edition 6 of the CASR Part 142 Training Instrument 2018 adds or modifies 11 helicopter type ratings and seven aeroplane type ratings. Type rating training for these single pilot aircraft is now a Part 141 activity. View the amended instrument on the Federal Register of Legislation website. To support these changes we have also published an approval instrument to enable operators, currently authorised under Part 142, to continue to conduct the flight training on affected aircraft until they are issued a new Part 141 certificate. Guidance and advisory material Experimental certificates We updated an advisory circular related to experimental certificates. This made a minor correction of the definition of authorised person to match the regulations. Read AC 21-10 – Experimental certificates. Projects Amendments to Part 66 Manual of Standards We opened a project to consider amendments to Part 66 Manual of Standards (MOS). This project intends to make miscellaneous amendments, editorial and/or machinery changes. Read more about Project MS 18/04.
