NT5224 Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Hi Just looking to sign up for a CASA safety presentation. If Im an RAA certified pilot do I have an Aviation Ref number? Cheers Alan
fatmal Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Not by default. Go to Applying for an aviation reference number (ARN) to apply for an ARN - it's quite painless :-) mal
Yenn Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Having an ARN puts you in a position to get a lot of info easily from CASA. Some of it good for safety training.
snarf007 Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Allows you to access NAIPS and to file a flight note if you are so inclined.
Downunder Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 HiJust looking to sign up for a CASA safety presentation. If Im an RAA certified pilot do I have an Aviation Ref number? Cheers Alan I've been to a few casa safety presentations. I don't have an ARN. Perhaps for more specialised courses it may be required, I'm not sure.....
kgwilson Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 When I set up my NAIPS login some years ago I was asked for my ARN number & I didn't have one so I put in my RA-Aus membership number to see what would happen & it was accepted. I've had access ever since so I don't think the number is checked against any database which makes me wonder what is the point of having it in the first place. 2
Yenn Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 the point is that if you have an ARN, they can instantly call up your file. Hand if you need to talk to them, quote the number and in a second they know who you are.
