Having an ARN puts you in a position to get a lot of info easily from CASA. Some of it good for safety training.

I've been to a few casa safety presentations. I don't have an ARN.

Perhaps for more specialised courses it may be required, I'm not sure.....

When I set up my NAIPS login some years ago I was asked for my ARN number & I didn't have one so I put in my RA-Aus membership number to see what would happen & it was accepted. I've had access ever since so I don't think the number is checked against any database which makes me wonder what is the point of having it in the first place.

the point is that if you have an ARN, they can instantly call up your file. Hand if you need to talk to them, quote the number and in a second they know who you are.
