"There's probably a few "seconds" from Boeing Max 8's on the market soon... "

Sicko.

How about poorly trained crews who haven't taken on board the memory item that is action for runaway stab trim? There are 5 other methods that actuate the stab trim motor, 4 of them automatic. Any one can cause runaway trim. Just hit the two switches to turn it off.

Maybe a bit of thread drift now but I am flabergasted that the pilots were not aware of the Lionair situation and the method of correction.

Would be interesting to see exactly what was in the 56 minute ipad conversion training.

That was the ONLY training given on the max 8 for existing 737 pilots.

I love my i-things (old mate Student Pilot - unkindly - calls me a techno-nerd ) but I wouldn't want to rely on an iPad as my primary flight display.

I currently look out on a mixed bag. I do like the old gauges - aesthetically and functionally - but I also want the utility of modern PFD displays.

So as a compromise, I went for the Kanardia Horis.

Its roundness (80mm) looks much nicer alongside its older siblings compared to its rectangular rivals.

Recently, I've had a new radio put in - an MGL V16 - which, admittedly, is a square peg in a round hole but it doesn't seem out of place over there on the right.

(Unfortunately, I have not yet had a chance to try it out but its specs and features seem really good.)
