blueberryJet Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Hey All I was Just wondering if I could get some help. My mate is taking me up for my first flight in a couple of weeks and I am hoping to record it. So I was wondering about the regulations of Gopros on the interior of the aircraft. When I look online I can find a wealth of info relating to mounting Gopros on the exterior and a couple of cases of people mentioning needing approval to mount to the interior of the aircraft as well, but I cannot find any source material about this from CASA. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
derekliston Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 If it is a recreational registered aircraft ie. numbers rather than letters I can’t see that it has anything to do with CASA, talk to RAAus if you are worried about it. Personally I think if you are temporarily clamping it to the internal structure and removing it afterwards, it shouldn’t be a problem! 1
old man emu Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 As long as the GoPro does not interfere with the operation of flight controls, or cause erroneous readings from flight instruments, or reduce the pilot's range of vision, it would be OK to mount it temporarily inside the aircraft. If that is not a possibility, used a headband mount and then the camera will record that at which you are looking.
