Hi All

Just wondering what the situation is with the RAAus pilots licence if one leaves RAAus but rejoins after several years is the license still there ( with licence review of course) or does one have to start again.

Is it like a GA licence where one would just have to obtain a medical and do some update training.

My understanding is that you'd need to make a "I'm medically fit to fly" statement, and pass a BFR.

Best to chat with your local flight instructor about it.

I first joined AUF in 1988 and flew for 2 years and then quit. In 2007 I did a TIF just for fun but got hooked again so decided to get back into it.  I was only required to show my log book. My hours still counted and I think I had to reach a standard where I could pass a flight test.   It took me I think about 11 hours before I did my test.  I did have to do all the written tests again.
