Robert Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Hi All Just wondering what the situation is with the RAAus pilots licence if one leaves RAAus but rejoins after several years is the license still there ( with licence review of course) or does one have to start again. Is it like a GA licence where one would just have to obtain a medical and do some update training.
Nightmare Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 My understanding is that you'd need to make a "I'm medically fit to fly" statement, and pass a BFR. Best to chat with your local flight instructor about it.
octave Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I first joined AUF in 1988 and flew for 2 years and then quit. In 2007 I did a TIF just for fun but got hooked again so decided to get back into it. I was only required to show my log book. My hours still counted and I think I had to reach a standard where I could pass a flight test. It took me I think about 11 hours before I did my test. I did have to do all the written tests again.
