The earths magnetic poles are constantly on the move, the movement happen in Geological time so very very slowly.   If you are worried google " Standard magnetic deviation" to see any changes.   In the history of the earth (geological) the poles have moved and flippedmany times.   The magnetic deviation is one way of measuring the age of the earth.   Because the changes take place very slowly.....DONT PANIC...it will be eons before the changes become a problem.   lol

It can be a bit of a pain when the variation changes more than 6 degrees though,. . .think of all that runway number paint. .! ! !

When I started Microlight flying in the 1980s, I noticed that the large wartime runway we were using was displaying a number which was eleven degrees out of kilter with the published and indicated magnetic readings.  Living proof of the shifting magnetic North pole. . .

Just improve your magnetic personality. If that fails have a "heated" swimming pool installed or a speedboat for water skiing  available or a pool table  or throw  terrific parties  for all your "Bought" friends. Have a ski lodge in the Alps. Rent your "face" out for character painters. As our famous Ex PM, ex ten pound Pom said recently when at your place, GREAT Britain , (and perhaps by inference YOU) should "Seize the Moment". when he  before that, coined the term "suppository" of all wisdom, in the parliament.  Nev

That's great! Nothing worse than broken poles for dropping power lines on the ground.

The magnetic North pole can move about 80 km in a day but it moves in a loop so the actual movement is about 40 km per year. In the last 150 years the North pole has moved 1102 km.. One day soon North and South will flip. Who cares, its just what happens & now as we have been for a long time, we are on to it.

All of the Urban UK Power distribution is underground. . . .

They only put lines on poles out in the countryside to effectively Deny distressed aviators all of the best, longest and flattest forced landing fields. . .
