Hello from North Carolina.

Fly a 1948 Piper PA-17 Vagabond with side by side seating, C-85 engine, no electrical system, hand prop to start, and portable radio for communications. Gross weight is 1150 pounds with stall speed of 45MPH. Cruise 85MPH @ 2100RPM.  Keep the Vag on a grass airstrip in North Carolina and having loads of fun getting back to basics with the Vag!

We also enjoy riding motorcycles, "rideandfly".

Welcome Bill, that is a beautiful old aeroplane. Member Flyerme has a Vagabond as well.

Welcome Bill. That's a beautiful plane you have.  Looks like no safety harness though? If si, must be hard staying on your own half of the seat in turbulence.

Deskpilot,

Here's a photo of the lap belt, but the Vag was not built with shoulder harness assemblies.  Shoulder harness installation will be a future Vag project.

Thanks for the Welcome!
