planedriver Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Unfortunately, it seems a Cirrus has come down at Tooradin this afternoon after a short flight. Early reports indicate that no one taken to hospital, which sounds like a positive outcome. Three people involved in plane crash
turboplanner Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 The aircraft is in bits. Seven News said it was flipped by a gust of wind. Not uncommon to experience wind shear, and mechanical turbulence there. The strip runs parallel to the coast and is shielded by Mangroves on one side and buildings on the other.
Jaba-who Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 The news report says all on board were uninjured. But jeez the aircraft is completely totalled. In bits. Wings ripped off, empennage ripped off completely, fuselage on its side and nose separated. Must have been spectacular when happened.
spacesailor Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Like the HummelBird the occupant section is made a little stronger to safeguard the important bits. & the rest to come apart to remove inertia. spacesailor
facthunter Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 What's behind you coming apart doesn't affect anything. but the repair bill.. Crumple zones are in front of or beneath you.. Nev
