Thruster88 Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I would have thought the cam/mechanical one was much cheaper and much more reliable, but that's the way they went. The cam/mechanical 4-6psi fuel pump left the automotive scene at the same time as the carbureter. Nearly all petrol cars have in tank electric turbine pumps producing about 50psi pressure. The in tank advantage is cooling and no shaft seal required. 1
