Earl Pike Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I was in the paint shop, at an airport in regional northern Victoria and saw a Jabiru 230. Apparently, the plane had parked in a paddock overnight and was grazed upon by a horse. The leading edges of the tail and main wings had significant damage down to the glass, through the paint and gel coat. I don’t know the owner, so I haven’t posted photos or named the paint shop. This is the second time I have seen horse damage by horses. When I was training at Lilydale, some years ago, a horse ate the vinyl roof of a rather good Ford LTD. So, beware the curious horse. 2
Earl Pike Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 The nagging goes on, and on and on ....... ????
Downunder Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I guess we'll remain saddled with the controversy. ....
onetrack Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I'll wager ingesting all that paint and gel coat made him a little hoarse.
onetrack Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Perhaps the aircraft owner can now name his aircraft, "Air Horse One"? 2 2
Downunder Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I'll wager ingesting all that paint and gel coat made him a little hoarse. Only if he hoofed it down.... 1
old man emu Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 This thread is going to founder because of these atrocious puns.
Downunder Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 This thread is going to founder because of these atrocious puns. I think you need to get off your high horse.... 2
onetrack Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Actually, the bloke can probably thank his good luck, that he didn't land in a paddock full of goats! He would've come back to the aircraft, and only found a skeletal frame! The story of W.A.'s first aircraft builders is featured in the ABC article below. But the article has left out a huge amount of detail. After the pilot crashed in the scrub near Coolgardie, when the intrepid builders returned to pick it up, they found the wing fabric had been chewed to pieces by feral goats! Flight of the outback daredevils created aviation history
Bryon Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 This thread is going to founder because of these atrocious puns. If that is the case, I had better hoof it off to somewhere else Watch out for the tail winds
kgwilson Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 This thread is going to founder because of these atrocious puns. I thought they were great. I was laughing at one of them and nearly fell off my hor chair. 1
