Window Tinting: what to use?

Update on all the above:

 

My Lexan is 1.5mm 9030TG, which is just the standard stuff, TG being thin gauge.

 

Lexan do not make a 1.5mm UV treated polycarbonate, so far as I can tell.

 

However, in NZ, Mulford Plastics do.

 

Price per 1200 X 2400 sheet is $135.10 + GST

Static film starting to sound very cost effective.

If you're looking for 1.5mm tinted Lexan in this country, forget about it. I went down that path when I was building the Nynja and had to replace some Lexan that I messed up. Every where I went the answer was the same "Not available in Oz". It is available in Europe as my Nynja kit came with 1.5mm tinted Lexan sheets.

Yep, I'm not expecting to find tinted in 1.5mm, cscotthendry, but I'm interested in the UV treated stuff: that would be half the problem dealt with, and I know someone who is interested in the other half of a sheet to replace a windscreen.

 

FWIW, untreated polycarbonate yellows and becomes brittle over time...though I'm more concerned about what the UV is doing to me.

Try allplastics in Sydney they have uv rated 1mm tinted

Go on try the KISS solution - might just work (it did for me) and if it doesn't for you, you have lost $15 - take me to court!

Many years ago ! ,

there was an auto screen tint , in a bottle , put on thick at the top & let run down , then thin lower down the screen .

No idea if U V compliant for you ,
