slartibartfast Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I thought they built an air bridge already? Bit rough paying all that money and having to walk on tarmac in the rain. Interesting that besides the 32 crew, 80 people who came in on the A380 yesterday returned on it today. A quick overnighter in Oz. Must have been a good party last night.
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I think so mate! One big party alright. I think they just had it parked over there near the GA apron as they had their marquee etc there for the partay. Look at our itinerary for March next year. Check out the aircraft type... Guest Fred Bear Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Flight status still in 'open' state so I think they are a little late boarding at the moment. Probably all that champers.
slartibartfast Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Excellent mate. What's promotion class? Do you get to ride on that lovely big wing?
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Ha ha ha. Most likely mate. No, fare was a price they beat compared to Cathay etc so I think that's why that is noted. I would have paid extra to go on the A380 anyway.:)
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 SQ220 was also due to depart at 1540 but just closed boarding now. A380 still open so there is obviously a bit of a delay. Here is the current Sydney ATIS though. This should bring the A380 straight over our place. Guest ozzie Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 A few pics of the big one last time it was here you could not see it as they had all the fences covered. but stopped on my way to work this morning and took the oppotunity to snap these off. not a chance of sneaking in tho. hasn't passed by my window yet. Darren i took these about 8.45 maybe we saw each other? ozzie
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Nice pics mate! Thanks for sharing. :) Should hear it on the live feed shortly as boarding has closed.
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Here she is flying over just now. Getting a little dark but you get the picture. Very quiet indeed on climb out. I have a smile from ear to ear :)
Guest ozzie Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 they must have swung it left i never saw it. must be really quiet i look more to the north and see them mainly off 34R. Maybe i can ride in it on next years trip OS BTW i went home to my other place in the Hunter after getting back on Monday and the FA18a's been honking around bouncing Singleton. must be a new batch going thru quite a few booms over the 3 days and they aren't allowed to do that. If you are quick you can catch a glimpse of them as they come out after the run and accelerate away. they look good paired up and cranking thru a climbing turn not affected by the notam but noticed a big drop in traffic and not to keen myself.
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Ozzie, tracked out to Parkes this one. Did virtually an immediate left turn off 34L. She's too big for 34R this girl :)
Guest ozzie Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Not wrong on big. If 34 L tracks straight out i can see them. should have got up and walked out to the foreshore park and taken some photos. any guess on the crosswind limit. it has such a 'billboard' profile.the windage from a side gust could blow it off the runway.
