Guest Guest Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Soyuz spacecraft successfully launched RBC, 15.04.2005, Moscow 09:50:42. A Soyuz-TMA-6 rocket carrying the 11-th International Space Station crew has been successfully launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The launch went off at 4:46 a.m. Moscow time. In 9 minutes, the spacecraft entered into the planned orbit starting its two-day flight to the ISS. It is to dock to the ISS on April 17, Rossiya (Russia) television reported. The spacecraft is carrying on its board Russian cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev, the crew commander, and U.S. astronaut John Phillips, whop will replace Salizhan Sharipov and Leroy Chiao. European Space Agency astronaut Roberto Vittori is also heading for the ISS to spend 8 days on the board of the station. The main task of the 11-th crew is to hold preparatory work to the first after the two-year ban US shuttle docking. Two space walks have also been planned.
