Guest veritas Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 As you break the surly bonds of Earth and find you able to kiss the face of God your craft become increasing less influenced by that invisible and mysterious force of terrestrial gravity. A craft ascending through the spheres ion ,exp etc gravitational force diminish has altitude increases , yes simple. The rocket booster of a craft such as the Space shuttle accelerates the craft to break away from the surly bonds of Earth and eventually Orbit of the Planet can be achieved, gravitational force decreasing toward weightlessness, and in the case of the of the Apollo and inter-planetary missions completely break away from the bonds of Earth and travel toward extra-terrestrial bodies. How hard is that? The only limitation is the supply of energy as a motive force to propel the craft maintaining or increasing the inertial moment. Theoretically if we could propel the energy rearward at the speed of light we could travel at the speed of light, making adjustment for stellar forces of external bodies ,solar winds and the unknown suck as Dark matter as we journey to our nearest Star Proxima Centaurus in a few short years. We must however defy the Einstein paradox of time dilation and the infinite mass theory , but hey how hard is that. Welcome responses from some of you more enlightened fold that enjoy space the final frontier.
Guest Glenn Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Hi Veritas and welcome aboard. An interesting post. I think it will be quite some time before we venture further than the moon. The only limitation is the supply of energy as a motive force to propel the craft maintaining or increasing the inertial moment. Nuclear fusion perhaps.
Guest veritas Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Perhaps if we can utilize the matter/energy abundant in the Ocean of the Cosmos there is no need to extract Earths resources to propel our craft toward our chosen destination. Matter , energy ,time and the limitations of our collective imaginations are all that stands between this terrestrial race and infinity. Oh , and the fact that we may destroy our stupid selves before we discover the universal secrets.
