brothach Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Hi all, After a big search on the net I cant seem to find a list of the 4 letter abbrevaitions used for airfields.:;)2: YMML, YMEN etc... Is there one? Is it free or part of a book I havent got yet? (newbie here!) Anyone got a link they can post? Thanx;) ps...is this in the right thread?? sorry if not. Brodie:yin_yan:
Guest airsick Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 They are all in the ERSA. The relevant part can be found at http://www.airservicesaustralia.com.au/publications/current/ersa/LND__22-Nov-2007.pdf Although you might have to go through this page http://www.airservicesaustralia.com.au/publications/aip.asp then click 'I agree', choose the ERSA, and then select aerodromes and ALA codes from the list.
slartibartfast Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 We have a place on the menu, but no content yet. If Ian didn't sleep so much it would get done. A quick google turned up this one, but ERSA is the go.
brothach Posted January 29, 2008 Author Posted January 29, 2008 Brilliant.....Thank you I will learn all these things in time....bear with me! Brodie
Guest airsick Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Once you start flying you should get yourself a copy of the ERSA anyway. You will need it for post GFPT flying (PPL) or your cross country endorsement. They do expire though so unless you want to waste ~$20 just wait until you need it.
Admin Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 If Ian didn't sleep so much it would get done. SLEEP..ha..definitely overrated although Corrine went out the other day and bought a new bed...cost $4,000...I told her she should have got it at half price
Yenn Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Cheaper than the ERSA is a PCA planning chart, but it doesn't give a full list and is not cross referenced so to find what the abbreviation means you have to scan through.
