Guest iflycessna Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I have been looking around for some flight training dvds/videos, but i am not sure what i should get. I have looked at the Sportys Private Pilot course, the Airs Technologies CD-ROM Course and the Kings Schools course. Both the Sportys Private Pilot Course and the Kings School course are from the US. The Airs Technologies course in from Australia. I am just really looking for a DVD/Video course that explains the theory parts of flight training E.g. - Meteorology, Aerodynamics, Airlaw, Engines and Systems, Human Factors and Navigation. Does anyone here have any suggestions?
Guest iflycessna Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Yes, but their does not seem to be anything available. Most training DVD's/Videos come from the US E.g. - Sportys and Kings Schools. I had a look on the Kings School website at some of their DVD's/Video/CD-ROM products. You could download short clips of them and they seemed to be very good. Airs Technologies and sportys also has a similar thing on their website. Here are the websites: http://www.sportys.com http://www.airstechnologies.com.au http://www.kingschools.com
Guest PaulR Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 The only problem I see getting material from the US is that the training standards might be different. I'm not sure what is entailed for a Private Pilot in Australia vs a Private Pilot in the US. Thanks for this thread however. I'm going to add the question, what would be best for some home study? I would have to start at the beginning (Student) and would like to work to PPL. What material would be best to purchase to get a ?jump start?? I've been through FAA Aircraft Dispatch course, so I know weather, general flight dynamics, flight planning, etc... (although I would need to brush up on those as well). Cheers, Paul
Guest PaulR Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Thanks for the info Robbo. At least it will give me something to do while I await HRH Vanstone's nod.
