Restoration project, maybe only VH-CTQ. The others have too much bird poo on them. The AD operator is in the ERSA. Owner search via aeroclub.com.au

All looks a bit sad, i'd like the dH104 - is that a dove or a heron??

The others have to much bird poo on them.

Keep in mind the only thing which saved the HARS connie (actually a C121 which was in active service somewhere) was because it had a broken window and it was full of bird poo. The poo makes them pop and f*rt in the smelter, so the scrappers didn't want it. When i first saw connie on TV, i thought these guys are kidding themselves, but look at her now.

Of course, a connie was worth it...

I took a photo of the Dove way back in 2000 when it still looked half decent, I remember the interior to be in good nick.

More info on this bird:

VH-NBM DE HAVILLAND 104 RILEY DOVE 6BA Serial 04416

Ex XB-TEZ, N5553V

VH-NBM is:

A Riley 400 conversion of the Series 6BA Dove, originally built for the US executive market. The flat Lycomings in place of the original in-line Gipsy Queens can be clearly seen in this shot.

They changed the tail shape when the Riley conversion was done (the early Riley conversions had the original tail). The 720's made for a good performer but at 80,000+ each for overhaul these days there's not many left flying. The Dove also had a spar life issue.

Does anyone know of any other airfields like this one?

We have a Cessna 150 sitting in a hanger rotting away virtually. The owner can't fly anymore due to health reasons.

Can you take a photo of it Glenn next time you go by and post it on here?

Will if I remember. It's not in bad condition, just covered in dirt and bird poop.
