Hey all,

 

Please forgive me if this has been asked lately, but does anybody know if all the Australian Airlines planes have been painted back in Qantas colours yet?

 

Id really like to get a couple more pics before they go.

An Australian Airlines plane was in Darwin this last Friday. Still in original scheme. I didn't get the rego as I was crawling inside a DJ aircraft at the time.

I heard to today that OGK (I think) has been doing the NZ run and comes in late Sat afternoons.

 

Have a guess where I will be next Sat?

I must say, they did a nice job of VH-OGI. I took a pick of that on 16R just after landing, and it did look swish in its new paint job. I did like the Aussie Airlines livery though.

Looks like OGV is still active under the AO colours for a little bit longer.

Here is a pic of VH-OGK in its new Qantas colours. Looks nice, but I did prefer the Aussie Airlines scheme.

Well, at least one of the Aussie planes is still flying. I was driving down Qantas Drive at YSSY yesterday morning when I saw one nice 767 about to line up on 16 Right for takeoff.

 

Shame I didnt have my camera. I also didnt get the rego.

Last night, 13th August, the very last Australian Airlines 767 VH-OGV took off for China to be repainted in Qantas colours.

 

I just missed my last opportunity to get a photo. damn damn damn!!! :evil: :x

My understanding is that OGV was the very last.

Hi Chainsaw,

 

I've seen OGL within the last week or two, and it still had the Australian Airlines livery. I don't know when it is scheduled to go in for assimilation. I think it does the SIN-DRW-SYD run (QF 829 ?).

 

As to 3:43 (3:13 me time), I work at the airport until 0230-0300 most nights playing with the DJ flights. Funny thing was, there were two unregistered guest on at the same time last night too. I might not be the only ?vampire? of the bunch. :D

Apparantly, the work normally get done at Richmond, but they are rather busy at the moment I'm told...so off to China (there are too many rabbits in China, thats why they built the big wall)
