Guest Chainsaw Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I'm hearing whispers that Toll Holdings has asked Virgin Blue to seriously look into being a freight carrier. One possibility is to use 737's, Pax during the day, freight at night? Maybe they could use aircraft as they drop of from doing pax runs. Or maybe they could obtain 733's or 734's like Australian Air Express is doing? Its is just a rumour. I have no hard facts. Its what I have been reading in vaious sources on the net. The threads have come from individuals and not organisations, so quotes are not really appropriate at this point. Can anybody shed some light on this? Truth or fiction?
Guest VH-TJT Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 One possibility is to use 737's, Pax during the day, freight at night? It is a possibility but I think dedicated freighters would be a more viable proposal. 737NG convertibles don't exist at this time, and I think it would be too costly to covert one. 737 classic convertibles exist but Virgin will be going backwards using them flying pax, loss of efficiency vs. Jetstar. I hope Virgin Freight happens with larger aircraft than AaE, 757-200, 767-200? TJT
