Guest Chainsaw Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Well success! I made it out to YSSY near the old control tower with a friend. It was sunny but quite hazy. The wind was from the south at around 38kts - very windy. There were a large number of people watching the event. The 'poor planning of the decade' award goes to the couple having a bonk when hundreds of people decended on the area in a matter of 5 mins. They only just managed to get dressed and drive out. Two mins later and they would have been parked in. I managed to get a very nice set of photos of it parked on a remote stand and the take-off. I also managed to get a photo of a rare Swiss Air A320 that was heading to Darwin. I'll put the photos up later, as I don't have my cable with me. My friend Craig, took a video of the take-off and I will put that on my video site too. Chainy :ch:
Guest Glenn Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Congrats on getting to see it depart =D>
Guest WillMikoyan Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Cool, it'll be good to see some new photos of them. The Mary Kostakitas on World News Australia reffered to the arrival of the Airbus A380 as "The new Boeing Airbus A380...." Hmmmmm.........I think her news team stufed that up a bit, not that anyone not in interested in avaiton would pickthat up I guess....

How long does it take to get to Vancouver?
Guest Chainsaw Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Chopy, The answer could be yes, but you won't see any on here. Remember the focus is A380 A380 (I have to keep saying that) heh heh I'll put the A380 and Swiss A320 pics up in the next hour or two. I let you all know when I do.
Uncle Chop Chop Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Thats ok, you can send me the pictures through the E-mail. Now back onto subject. What was the Swiss Airbus A320 doing in Australia? What's it doing after Darwin? The A380 would have been a very impressive sight to see it land. I seen it on the News Yesterday. When is it due to be back in Australia again?

A friend of mine actually went up and took some very impressive photos the A380. I'll see if I can get my hands on them, and post them up too.
