Guest Glenn Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 There was a fire outside of Cowra yesterday and today. Fire bombing aircraft today included - VH-LZH - AS.350B Fire bomber 258 VH-CVF - Air Tractor Fire bomber 223 These photos were taken at the airport. The air tractor had a turn around of approximately 10-12 mins and was able to take on 3000 litres of water and foam between 2:20 and 2:30 on average. The chopper with its bambi bucket only returned to the airport to refuel. It was able to pick up water from local dams and the larger Wyangala Dam. More photos later
TAA Student Pilot Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Look's like Freddy's shinny new 802.
Uncle Chop Chop Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Wait until you see the Ericson Sky Crane aka ELVIS. It is massive. But very impressive in how it works.
Guest Glenn Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Would love to see Elvis. The chopper that is, unless you go to Parkes, there's hundreds of them. But, let's hope we don't get fires that big to have to call in the skycrane. Thanks Chainy. I desperately need a DSLR Last lot of pics. First one is my current desktop background
