Uncle Chop Chop Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Thank You Chainy for that Touching Tribute She will be missed. RIP VH-EBT It's a shame that these old girls are leaving our Skies
Guest Chainsaw Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Some of us (be it spotters, ex-pilots, ex-crew or ex-pax) feel the emotion of it, but just remember its purely a business decision. Planes are also just material things. All the same, its sad to see her go. My family came from Wagga Wagga, so the name of VH-EBT gave her a 'connection' with me.
Guest Juliet Juliet Papa Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 It should be flying again with someone else.
Guest Chainsaw Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Thanks mate, yes I am aware of that. It will go through its 'D' check and then be refitted and painted for its new role. (aside: how are you mate?)
Guest Juliet Juliet Papa Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Very busy. heading to ADL to finish off my RAAF training. Got 2 jobs at the moment.
Guest David747 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Hi Chainsaw. VH-EBT was delivered to Qantas on the 13th of November 1984. :) It's very sad to see this magnificent aircraft leave the Qantas fleet. I had the pleasure to fly on her in December last year and it was one of my favourite flights I've had. Visiting her flight deck was something I will always remember. I've seen VH-EBT in Brissie a number of times and have plenty of photos of her. Listening to the growl of those 4 Rolls Royce Engines on take off is just truly amazing. GOODBYE VH-EBT. :( David...
