The phonetic alphabet as utilized by the British Forces around 1904: A - Ack B - Beer C - C D - D E - E F - F G - G H - H I - I J - J K - K L - L M - Emma N - N O - O P - Pip Q - Q R - R S - Esses T - Toc U - U V - Vic W - W X - X Y - Y Z - Z The British Army in 1927 used the following: A- Ack B - Beer ( ) C - Charlie D - Don E - Edward F - Freddy G - George H - Harry I - Ink J - Johnny K - King L - London M - Monkey N - Nuts ( :lol: ) O - Orange P - Pip Q - Queen R - Robert S - Sugar T - Toe U - Uncle V - Vic W - William X - X-ray Y - Yorker Z - Zebra Prior to 1954, the US Navy Radio Alphabet was as follows: A - Able B - Baker C - Charlie D - Dog E - Easy F - Fox G - George H - How I - Item J - Jig K - King L - Love M - Mike N - Nan O - Oboe P - Peter Q - Queen R - Rodger S - Sugar T - Tare U - Uncle V - Victor W - William X - X-ray Y - Yoke Z - Zebra
