Seats allocated were 60 K and J on the r/h side of the aircraft right up the back (third window at back). Looks like when I did the web check in most of the seating was allocated even though I checked us in 48hrs prior to departure (when it opened). Atleast we have a window seat though :D

Don't know what the chances of trying to change the seating are at the airport on Saturday for the upstairs economy 2 abreast seating once you have already conducted a web check??

Ok, signing out for now. See y'all when we get back. All take care of yourselves and stay in one piece (especially you Robbo). Don't forget to track us tomorrow on 9V-SKA. Screen shots please either on this forum or mine and Chainy, don't forget to snap a pic!!! Watch out for the grey water mate. See you :D

Do you know if you'll be flying over near here? I think you should come pretty close. Don't forget to wave.

Is it just you and Emma going? What are the kids doing?

Hey mate. Will pass more Bathurst, Orange on on to Cobar then Tiboburra, Alice Springs and up the WA coast then up over Bali onto Singapore so we miss Cowra  Just Emma and I. We want a holiday. Would not be that with the kids but yes, we will miss them

I think that I may just be able to see you. Will be looking anyway. Now all I need is a huge lens.

Good luck and travel safe :)

Regret to inform (probably myself more than anyone else) that Emma and I are not going on the A380 today. Was advised at the check-in desk that it has a tech problem (second this week) and that 9V-SKC is still in Singapore. We are now getting on a 747 and the most annoying part is that they have put us right in the middle of the damn thing, ie, no window seats! I don't know about Emma but I am not impressed. Maybe better luck in the 777 tomorrow. A few Tiger beers in Singapore tonight will be sure to calm though. Anyway, our flight out is SQ220 and if anyone happens to see the rego for this 747 (as I may not get it) would appreciate a post. Bye for now!

Yeah it was mate. Was not impressed at all. We are waiting for the 777 now and we have window seats so it won't be that bad. Will make for good pics with the 'fisheye' You should see the aircraft here! Heaps to look at 9V-SQF at my right at the window and plenty of Silk Air A320's. 9V-SLI was one of the regos I think. Also something military with stacks of black smoke! Not sure what it was. Will post some pics up when I get the chance. Hopefully the A380 home for the dark midnight flight!!!! One thing Dave C will probably tell you too is the service here an the airport itself sh$! on Sydney. Checking out for now catch you all soon.

Thanks for the update. Pity you weren't on the A380 today. It flew right over Chainy's farm this morning some time around 10:30 - 11:00am. Guess who got to see it too? yep, me. Expect some piccies later on :D

Yeah that would be bloody right  What can you do mate. Oh well. Maybe on the way home next week. The 777 trip was awesome though although quite turbulent. Rego was 9V-SRA. Cabin crew was good, food was good. Tracked out toward Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang then further North onto Hanoi. What a shock when here. Wish I could tell you in words. Rice fields, tiny little houses and units all over the place and motorbikes. There must be 5 million motorbikes if not more. Our cabbie too (and every other driver) just constantly honks for others to get out of the way. Crossing the road here is fun too! You have to dodge thousands of bikes and cars. The smog today was quite back and the humidity is starting to get as tiresome as the constant hawkers. "You want buy t-shirt?, You want buy wallet? You want buy postcard?" It goes on and on. Huge culture shock. Beer is less than $1 for almost a 700ml bottle and I am loving that!!! Meal tonight and beers all cost only $14. You can get way cheaper but it was a good restaurant. The chilli was so hot in one dish though that I will pay for it big time tomorrow

Just arrived from Hanoi and at Singapore. 777 to here was 9V-SRE. Saw some exotic aircraft both at Hanoi and here. Will post when home. Looks all good for A380 home tonight as seating has not changed. Not sure of rego yet. We are seated right down the back.

We did enjoy it. Thoroughly. We were supposed to land at 5.55am but it ended up being an hr later. Was worth it. 9V-SKC was the rego. Pics etc to come. I really need to have a sleep.
