Guest Chainsaw Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Oh my Matt, you are going to be busy with trip reports and photos. Can't wait to read mate.
Guest PaulR Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 mmmmmmmm....... 5 days in the NY area. Depends what you want to get out of the trip while you're there. At that time of year it would be worth a drive up to the Boston, New Hampshire, and Vermont areas. The mountains should be alive with colour around that time (might be on the late-side so ask around before you decide on that.) There is still Boston Clam Chowder to be enjoyed, and you can't beat the "colonial" feel when the air is brisk. You could also head south into northern Pennsylvania. Go as far south as the Pocono's, head back north through Albany, and back to NYC. You could fly to Buffalo and drive to Niagara Falls (about 2-hours), or you could drive about 8-10 hours (I can't remember how long it takes but I believe it is I-90 the entire way.) to Niagara Falls. Either way, take the passport and see it from the Canadian side. They put on a decent light show if I recall. Enjoy the trip no matter what you decide. I look forward to reading all about it. :D
