Uncle Matt is off to the USA once again in September. Quite alot of flying ahead of me;

 

Sydney - San Francisco

 

San Francisco - Seattle

 

Seattle - Las Vegas

 

Las Vegas - New York

 

New York - Niagra Falls

 

Niagra Falls - New York

 

New York - Orlando

 

Orlando - Miami

 

Miami - Los Angeles

 

Los Angeles - Sydney

 

Looking forward to this trip. Havent been to the majority of these places. Also going to Mr Boeings factory - and i do promise lots of pictures. Anyone that has been to the east coast of the USA before with any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my Matt, you are going to be busy with trip reports and photos.

mmmmmmmm....... 5 days in the NY area.

 

Depends what you want to get out of the trip while you're there.

 

At that time of year it would be worth a drive up to the Boston, New Hampshire, and Vermont areas. The mountains should be alive with colour around that time (might be on the late-side so ask around before you decide on that.) There is still Boston Clam Chowder to be enjoyed, and you can't beat the "colonial" feel when the air is brisk.

 

You could also head south into northern Pennsylvania. Go as far south as the Pocono's, head back north through Albany, and back to NYC.

 

You could fly to Buffalo and drive to Niagara Falls (about 2-hours), or you could drive about 8-10 hours (I can't remember how long it takes but I believe it is I-90 the entire way.) to Niagara Falls. Either way, take the passport and see it from the Canadian side. They put on a decent light show if I recall.
