Guest Darren Masters Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Stay tuned. I am getting up bright and early in the morning for some aerochuting. Will post report and pics!
Guest OzChris Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Awesome Darren!!! Have a great time - cant wait to read about it...and see the pictures :D
Guest Darren Masters Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Well a brilliant morning! Was up at 0600, out at the airfield at Freemans Reach at 0730. We did not get airborne until 1000 or so waiting for the dreaded fog to lift. Was plenty of it this morning. We took off from the field and tracked out towards my place with the fog and cloud way below. Glad I had my freezer/flying suit on today! Must have been freezing as I felt it on my eyes with the balaclava on!! Absolutely brilliant morning for it though. As smooth as silk. After flying overhead my place we returned to Freemans Reach for some fuel then took off again to Bensons Field where we did the teddy bear drop throwing a huge teddy bear out the side with a massive parachute. That was my duty. The kids would have loved it!!! Will have to do that again sometime. Was brilliant to get into the air again in the aerochute after so long. Below are some pics. Enjoy.
Guest OzChris Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Awesome Darren...would have loved to see that Teddy coming down  You need some goggles to stop ya eyeballs freezing over... #-o Great report and pictures Darren!
Guest Darren Masters Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Thanks Chris :D The goggles would be a bloody brilliant idea in winter!!!! I have my old skydiving ones somewhere. They would be perfect. Will have to try and find them. The teddy, yes, lol, quite a sight! I want to film that one next time  The kids would love it.
Guest Glenn Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 That 5th photo was scary [smilie=jaw-dropping.gif] Why did you drop the teddy?
Guest Darren Masters Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Yes indeed it is. Any photo with me in it is scary!!!! We dropped teddy as he was in the clubhouse and one of the other pilots sons was real keen on the idea. I must admit, so was I. First object (apart from the old dunny paper) that I have thrown out of an aircraft. I let teddy go throwing him downwards then we commenced a turn back towards teddy and watched him land below. We dropped him from 500'.
Guest Glenn Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Lucky he landed safely otherwise it would've knocked the stuffing out of him. That would have been great to see. The parachuting teddy that is
Guest Darren Masters Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 It was. I was absolutely pi@!ing myself up there when I let him go. I will get video of it next one.
