I don't know if most of us are aware but Firefox/Mozilla are attempting to set a download record for a 24-hour period. This is for the updated Firefox 3 browser. I personally use Firefox, and am quite pleased with it over the years.

Here are the time tables for Australia to participate in this event (These are start times):

Australia - Australian Capital Territory - Canberra Wed 3:00 AM

Australia - New South Wales - Sydney Wed 3:00 AM

Australia - Northern Territory - Darwin Wed 2:30 AM

Australia - Queensland - Brisbane Wed 3:00 AM

Australia - South Australia - Adelaide Wed 2:30 AM

Australia - Victoria - Melbourne Wed 3:00 AM

Australia - Western Australia - Perth Wed 1:00 AM

Check it out if you wish. :D

No need to stay up until 0300. 0300 just starts the 24-hour clock for this effort.

This is highly commendable. Firefox IMO adheres to W3C standards much more than IE.

Oh Dear,

For you young pup's CPM was an operating system before DOS. I can only imagine that some of you young whipper-snappers won't even know what DOS is!!

i like using DOS, when i start up my computer, its configured so you can choose what operating system you want to run, Windows XP, Dos, Red hat, Ubuntu and various other Unix based Operating systems.

But CPM  that's way...WAY before my time (no offense to you more senior citizens :P )

btw, FIREFOX RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Hello...

I am now using firefox thanks to Paul, Darren, Glenn and everyone who posted here. Now I was just wondering how many people are using Mozilla's email client thunderbird?

I do. Why use Outlook at home? The only major difference between the two is Outlooks' ability to create/send appointments to other Outlook users. Unless you run a business off your home computer, this is not needed. You can still get a good calendar by using the Lightning extension for Thunderbird.

... and yes, I use OpenOffice as well. :D

Microsoft Office is good for an environment where collaboration is required, but OpenOffice is enough for needs at home. If you need to collaborate, you can also use Google Docs.

Glad to hear you switched over Robbo!

On our systems here, 3 use Outlook and I use Thunderbird.

We all use Firefox v3. I have found v3 to be faster then v2.

Yes, agree with all. I too use Thunderbird. Have been for just over a year (maybe longer). It is straightforward Robbo and a pleasure to use. Glenn, best just visit the Firefox add-ons page and Thunderbird add-ons page. You will find that in 'tools' then 'add-ons'. There is some great ones there. Currently for Firefox I am using Aquatint Black Gloss for version 3 and yes, I find version 3 much faster than 2.
