Robbo Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Chris..115 KM/H Non Stop Down The Hume Freeway On Cruise Control. (Its a 110 speed limit, oops) Mitsubishi 380 VRX  I think you are allowed a 10% grace with the speed...that is if your speedo is accurate. At that sort of speed that is VERY good economy! I drive a Mazda 626 4 cylinder, and I dont think I get that sort of economy! Chris, give or take a couple litres. LOL speedo is not accurate went through one of those things that tell you your speed and I was on 115 on the speedo and it says i was doing 106 ! Funny thing is the next one showed me at 111 and I never touched the cruise control. LOL somethings out of whack  LOL saw a few people get done by those speed cameras on the freeway :D #-o One went off when a car was flying past me bloody thing better not have gotten me cause at that stage i was doing 109 in a 110 zone and the car beside me was overtaking me at 120+ :x
Guest Chainsaw Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 didn't get my hug Glenno You are getting me confused with another member      Robbo, I think you only JUST escaped his clutches. Todd has never been the same since THE BIG HUG. :P
Guest OzChris Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 A police friend of mine told me that those radar things can be out up to 5% and your speedo can be out up to 5%, so they allow a 10% discretion before booking you... I used my aviation GPS and found that my speedo was spot on up until it got to 100klm/h then it started to get more and more out the faster I went. It was under reading like yours is - so at least when Im doing 115 Im really only doing 110...at least ya feel like ya going faster
Robbo Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 :( I forgot my radar detector  , It even picks up some speed cameras :) I have never received a speeding ticket in my 10+ years of driving and have only been pulled over a couple of times and it was for routine breath tests :D I am quite proud of myself. I cannot stand these young kids today loosing there licence in a couple of weeks after getting it, they dont deserve a licence :x . I hate it hoons to !!
Guest Glenn Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Never been booked for speeding either. Tyre pressures also play a factor in it as well Robbo, I think you only JUST escaped his clutches. Todd has never been the same since THE BIG HUG. I was the hugee not the hugger
Todd M Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Yes Glenn was the recipient of the Big Hug, and he is the one that has never been the same. And just to create one big awkward moment, here is a little picture I found on google
Guest Glenn Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 That's scary Went through Holbrook on Monday and at the turn off to the airport there was a Sapphire ultralight mounted on a post/pole. Was going to check out the airport but decided to do it on the way home Tuesday. Didn't get a chance to go back Tuesday and we went a different way home because of the road works they were doing to the Hume. Lots of 40, 60 and 80 zones. Very slow going. Had a quick look at Albury airport and saw a Virgin Blue E170 take off, a REX Saab land and another was on the ground. Didn't check out Wagga on the way home either as I wanted to avoid that place as much as possible. People tend to crash into me when I go there. Plus, I was in a hurry to get back home to my beloved.... TAA ohhh, and all of you too 3 choppers at Cowra airport this morning. Channel 9 news Squirrel Bell 407. Not sure who it belongs to. Couldn't see rego R44. VH-JMO
