Guest Darren Masters
Hello all. Have booked my flights for March next year. I am traveling from Sydney-Macau on Viva Macau ZG9500 Dep Sydney 12th March then returning Sydney ZG9501 23rd March. Have to now book the Macau-Saigon legs. Will do it with the same airline as it is dirt cheap! The Sydney-Macau return was only $570 AU. I have to pay another $170 AU or so for the Macau-Saigon return. I will be getting a bus or train (1,300km) from Saigon to Hanoi. Should be good. Lots of nice cheap fares at the moment. :D :D

Strawberry Muppet
I will be getting a bus or train (1' date='300km) from Saigon to Hanoi. Should be good. [/quote']Wow! That's pretty adventurous! Always wanted to do that myself but I just don't have the time! Take the train, roads in Vietnam are very poor indeed and it'll take you much longer than the train. If you haven't done so check out this site for excellent tips on travelling from Saigon to Hanoi by train: http://seat61.com/Vietnam.htm Have a great trip! I am flying to the beautiful island of Madeira tomorrow to escape the terrible British climate.
Guest Darren Masters
Hello buddy. Thanks for the reply. Yes, that was one of my links. Thanks for posting it too. I will likely take the train. At least I will get proper sleep on the train. Will leave me with 4 nights or so in Hanoi. I will probably miss Sapa again though  There is always next time though. I may even end up taking VN Airlines back to Saigon from Hanoi. Not sure at this point. Have a great trip too. PS We expect one of your excellent trip reports!
