Robbo
I seem to be getting more interested in photography and video production, Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good software to edit photos and videos? I am using photoshop currently for photos and was using adobe premier for videos but it does not suit my needs so need something better to edit videos. Skip

Guest Chainsaw
Photoshop IS the best, full stop. As far as Videostudio is concerned, that's what I use but I don't necessary think it's the best in that category. You should read some reviews. I also have a few plugins for Photoshop CS2 that help. For photo organisation, I use iMatch. Brilliant software if you have a lot of photos. Much better than Adobe bridge.
Robbo
I use picasa :) Basic and thats all I need to organise photos :)
Guest Chainsaw
Picasa is rubbish. Link for iMatch: http://www.photools.com/ You can even do photo editing in there. It was worth EVERY penny. I bought it 3 years ago.
Robbo
Picasa does the job for storing photos... All it needs to do is keep the photos in order :)
Guest Chainsaw
Once you get a few thousand photos, you will something serious. What camera have you got?
Robbo
Got a DVD video camera and a 10 meg point and shoot, I have ordered a D80 though... Should have it in a couple of weeks.
Guest Chainsaw
Make sure then lens is good. This is where most people make a mistake. If at all possible get a lens with I.S. (Image Stability - anti-shake) worth it's weight in gold.
Robbo
I know nothing about cameras... I want something decent and the camera bloke talked me into that. LOL now I dunno what I need with it :(
Guest Chainsaw
The camera itself is good. What lens comes with it?

Robbo
Chainy.... Do you use video studio? Do you know if it exports to widescreen? Also is vide studio better than windows movie maker or is it just the same? Looks like the same thing.
