Guest Darren Masters Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Do you think the passengers onboard QF74 will take legal action in respect to this incident?
Guest OzChris Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 On the news tonight they were interviewing pax in hospital...they were suggesting that compensation is needed for their ordeal. I notice that QF has so far offered a refund and a travel voucher - as well as cover their medical expences.

Some of these people have $$ signs in there eyes, they just see this as a opportunity to get money
macnoz Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 With due regard to the genuine suffering experienced by some in this or other “accidents” the fact remains that most claims for compensation can be financed by legal gambit - no win no fee. So to most claimants it is just like buying a lottery ticket except you and I are paying for it. So win or lose, you may as well have a go and you might even get to go on ACA or some other gutter tabloid news show and get referred to as a true Aussie battler- maybe even a digger. ‘If I smoke, I can sue the tobacco companies should I get cancer. If I am fat, I can sue McDonald’s for the risks associated with obesity. So can I sue Smirnoff for all the ugly b$%^ards I have slept with over the years?’.
