Guest Darren Masters Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Folks, Tuesday out of Sydney at 1900 is the final QF 747-300 flight. There are no more after this. Will be sad indeed: :frown: The final 747-300 Classic aircraft, VH-EBV will depart Sydney on Tuesday 20th January 2009 at 1900. The aircraft will be ferried via HNL to Marana in Arizona for storage, joining EBY and EBW. EBX is also at Marana but has been sold to Evergreen International.
Guest g_i_jack029 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 May she have a longer and continue to have a successful career. so long old girl :(
Guest Michael Coates Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 They should sell tickets on the final flight rather than go over empty and give 50% to charity or something... its a waste going over empty ??

Guest Dean747 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 A sad day in aviation gone but not forgotten.
Uncle Chop Chop Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 You can't miss the silver engine cowlings of the 300. I will miss seeing that at Melbourne International Airport on a Saturday morning.
Todd M Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 It is a shame she is leaving, I am happy to have flown and visited the cockpit on atleast one. -EBV is currently over at the Sydney Jetbase awaiting its ferry flight. I recieved an email about this aswell, and is a shame I have to work otherwise I would come up to see her off!
