Guest Darren Masters Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Showing up now on Plane Plotter about to arrive into Sydney. It is a 757 G-MONJ. Don't know what this aircraft is doing here. Any ideas??
Guest Chainsaw Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Yes I saw it too. Hey Daz duck over there and ask them for us lol
nzom_pilot Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I would guess its a cruise ship transfer - we had a ThomsonFly 757 (G-OOBE) a week or so back that did AKL and HBA swapping pax off cruise ships.

Interesting. Wonder where it will be going next? Might add that one to my alerts. Chainy, could not be bothered driving although it would be interesting to see it.
Guest Darren Masters Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 This from somewhere else. Thanks to VJ for the info: G-MONJ flew Papeete-Auckland-Sydney today with 92 odd pax on rtw tour, I believe it departs Sydney on 31st Jan.Aircraft features 'The Captains Choice Tour' tittles on forward fuse with Monarch livery.
Guest Darren Masters Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I remember them here during the pilots strike in the 80's.
Guest Darren Masters Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Airborne now. About to fly over my place (and probably yours Chainy).
Guest Darren Masters Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Just went right overhead. Got a real good look
Guest David C Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 It's a bit like being at my old stamping ground of Birmingham Airport with all this Thompson and Monarch stuff around ... Makes an old bloke very home sick Dave C
Pricey Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Hello my fellow ex-pat Brum...Spent some time at "Elmdon" myself! Bit before Thompson etc though. More along the lines of BMA Viscounts and BA 111's!
