Uncle Chop Chop Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Hi all. Since I got Plane Plotter working with the help from Chainy and Robbo I have noticed a few things. 1. Why is is that only Boeing 747-400's, A320's, Boeing 777's and A380 show up? They are the only aircraft that show up. Does anyone else have the same problem?
Robbo Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Chop They dont. I can see 737, 767 etc etc.... Some are not fitted with ADSB either
Robbo Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Further to that, on those screenshots you just posted, I can see 737 aircraft there !!! There in the format 738
Guest Glenn Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I can see REX Saab's as well. Even Lowy's Gulfstream shows and I think BBJ's as well
Uncle Chop Chop Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 I can't see them. It might be my computer.
Robbo Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Bring your laptop on Monday/Tuesday Chop and when I pick you up I will sort it out for ya
Guest Darren Masters Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 You should be able to see them. Airliners/jets/propjets etc that are fitted with ADS-B will/should show up.
Guest avirgin737 Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 What is Plane Plotter.. Sounds interesting.. What do you need and where do you get it??
Guest Glenn Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 http://www.coaa.co.uk/planeplotter.htm Costs around $40 AUS
Guest Chainsaw Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Ok here we go. More and more commercial planes are fitted with ADS-B transmitters. In the next few years they will be a must for all operators. There are a number of people that have special receivers such as an SBS box which can receive the ADS-B signals. The SBS box can receive signals from an average radius of 250miles (depending on terrain etc). The main info is speed, heading, Flight Level, hex code, Flight ID (Eg QFA31), squawk code. So how do we get this info without having to buy an expensive SBS box? How do we see planes from around the world? Enter PlanePlotter http://www.coaa.co.uk/planeplotter.htm You pay a small amount to register the program (an absolute bargain - far far better than sliced bread) and you then can see planes from all over. Sounds too good to be true? Well, it is true! We have multiple sharers in Australia with Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and sometimes other areas. Some older planes we don't see, such as QF 767's, older 737's and most Dash 8's. We see all the 744's one of the VH-VX* series and the VH-VY*, VH-VZ* series. A large number of DJ's can be seen and just about all the Jetstar A320's, Tiger A320's, more and more Saab 340's (Rex), some military, heaps of international jets (too many to list), some corporate jets, a couple of Rescue bugsmashers etc etc. Thats just Australia! The traffic you see in Europe and England is utterly insane. I haven't even mentioned how it works with Google Earth either - the cockpit view is one heck of a ride!!! Don't even bother to think about it, just get it. If you don't, you will be missing out on something very special. Chainy
Guest Darren Masters Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 That very-well summed it up Chainy
