Hi everyone,

I am an aviation college student in Canada, just finishing up my commercial flight training. I have been seriously considering moving to Australia to start off my career, and I was just wondering what the market for entry level pilots is like in Australia, and if anyone knows about some companies that are good to start with who may be considering hiring young pilots around the end of April? Thanks to anyone who replies!

James

thanks! I'll give it a shot! Pay isn't too important to me at this stage of my career, if I can keep a steady pay cheque with enough to buy food, and gain flight time, I am a happy camper

Good stuff mate. Whatever floats your boat as they say  I am quite sure they are still looking.

Right on. That whole deal with REX sounds pretty neat, but unless I get a bunch of scholarships, there's no way I can afford the $40 000. I was looking for maybe single engine charter operations. Also, since I'll already have my CPL, I don't think I'd be able to get into REX's training program.

I don't think it really matters that you already have the CPL to get into the program. They deduct the payments in installments from your wages not all in one lump sum.

ohhh okay, that sounds alright then. I'jj have to find some people who have taken the program, and get some comments and advice on it. I also have to figure out exactly what I need to do in order to be allowed to work in Australia. I was looking at the government's website on immigration, and it looks pretty complicated...but it does seem to be a little less difficult according to the site for 19 year olds like me to get a work visa.
