Guest Glenn Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 News from our "raving" reporter (Robbo) is that the Emirates aircraft involved in the tail strike has been repaired and painted and is sitting outside John Holland Melbourne.
Robbo Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I will double check to make sure its the same one tommorow, I was busy driving and only saw i glimpse of it and its the only EK jet on the John Holland tarmac and there was nothing in the hanger so I am guessing its the same one, daz seems to think it is but as i said i dident see the rego. It was shiny at the skid though so im guessing its the same one.
Guest David C Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I understand that the carbon fibre rear pressure bulkhead is badly damaged , so any repair would just be a bandaid job just to get the aircraft airborne and flyable at an unpressurised level . Dave C
Robbo Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I was to busy this morning and did not get a chance to get to the hangers, Daz is there for a week maybe he can double check.
Guest Darren Masters Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I am quite sure the repair job was on the damaged machine as she still seems to be there now.
